GOAL:
Is it possible to suppress the ODBC login box using a 3rd party front-end reporting tool ?
FACT(s) (Environment):
MERANT 3.60 32-BIT Progress SQL-92
Windows
Progress 9.1x
FIX:
When a 3rd party reporting tool such as MS Excel, Crystal Reports and others are used with an ODBC connection to a Progress database, it's that front-end application's responsibility to provide a mechanism to pass the username and password through to the database.
However, if you're building a custom ODBC compliant application to talk to the Progress database, an ODBC connection string can be used to do this. For details regarding ODBC connection string, please refer to the "Progress ODBC Driver Guide ".
