What new features does GUI RESULTS contain in V8?
Answer
Data Governor:
-------------
The Data Governor limits the number of records a query
returns from the server. This prevents run away queries
from burdening the network or end users.
New uses for calculated fields:
------------------------------
Queries can sort & filter based on calculated fields
Calculated fields can be displayed in a Label View
Calculated fields can be renamed
Ask at Runtime Enhancement:
--------------------------
RESULTS reports can be generated with Ask at Runtime logic
embedded within them, and these reports can be executed
from within PROGRESS applications. The reports no longer
require RESULTS to do the asking at runtime.
3D Look:
-------
RESULTS has been updated with a 3D GUI so it looks like the
other ADE tools.
Internationalization:
--------------------
RESULTS has been readied for translation into other
languages.
RESULTS has been enhanced to run cleanly using any
PROGRESS-supported character set (codepage) including
double byte.
Miscellaneous:
-------------
RESULTS has been enhanced to support the ROWID enhancements
in the PROGRESS dataservers.
The RESULTS --> GUI RESULTS Converter has been rewritten
resulting in stability and performance enhancements.
