SYMPTOM(s):

Problem establishing an ODBC connection to the database.

The shared memory is version <num>; expected <num> (1178)

The $DLC/lib directory was not in use when patch was applied.

Shutdown the database and rebooted box prior to installing patch.

Rebooting the machine has no effect

AdminServer not used.

Database connection can be established via data dictionary

Multiple progress executables do not exist in different locations.

Restoring progress version to patch level 91.C14 fixes the problem.

Ensured permissions are set correctly in $DLC/bin
chown root _*
chmod 4775 _*
chmod 755 _sqlsrv2
chmod 755 _waitfor

CHANGE:

Installed Patch 91.C19 to database installation.

CAUSE:

SequeLink links to Progress libraries on the server. Installing a progress patch can break these links.

FIX:

Contact MERANT to determine what Sequelink files will need to be relink to progress libraries.
