What are the software requirements to access a Sybase Database via ODBC Dataserver?
GOAL:
What are the supported drivers to access a Sybase Database via ODBC Dataserver?
FIX:
A. Progress-supplied software/licenses:
ODBC Personal/Enterprise DataServer license AND Progress 9.0x and higher/WebSpeed Transaction Server 3.0x and higher
B. Data-Source Server software:
Sybase Adaptive Server
C. Data-Source Client software:
Open Client Library, DCE version (required only if the DataServer for ODBC machine is remote to the data source)
D. ODBC software:
MERANT DataDirect ODBC driver.
For the Personal DataServer, MERANT DataDirect ODBC driver can be purchased and installed separately. For information on exact driver version compatible with the Sybase data-source client software and ODBC software, see the MERANT Web Site at http://www.merant.com .
For the Enterprise DataServer, Progress supplies the ODBC driver, which is automatically installed when you install the ODBC DataServer. See the DataDirect Connect ODBC Reference on the Progress CD for additional information.
