SYMPTOM(s):
Installing database product on UNIX.
Unable to execute proinst script.
Error: Cannot find file <proinst path>
Downloaded Progress Enterprise Database product from Progress Download Center.
CAUSE:
Unzipped the downloaded Progress file using the Windows WinZip utility, then copied the unzipped files to the UNIX machine. WinZip changed the sizes on the files.
FIX:
Copy the downloaded file to the UNIX machine, then uncompress and untar the file to extract its contents.
EXAMPLE:
uncompress -c filename.tar.Z
tar -xvf filename.tar
