SYMPTOM(s):
Zetafax external software not sending faxes when accessed by 4GL
4GL procedure communicating with Zetafax software using DDE
No errors are generated by the Zetafax software
Faxes are sent correctly from other application
CAUSE:
This was related to the Zetafax software.
If the Zetafax software goes offline, it does not send a DDE-ERROR.
In this case the fax will never be sent, but since there's no error raised to trap the Progress application will be unable to handle this situation properly.
FIX:
Equisys, the supplier of the Zetafax software, recommends using the COM object interface.
