Status: Verified

SYMPTOM(s):

NetSetup client exits with error 11002

The DLC environment variable must contain a valid directory/path (11002).

On the source installation PC, shares the progress install directory.

On the client PC, map drive to the share

After running NetSetup, the DLC in progress.ini is set to the mapped drive letter alone, for example, m:

FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress 9.1D
Windows

CHANGE:

Installed Service pack 5 or higher

CAUSE:

Bug# OE00072587

CAUSE:

Bug# OE00088837

CAUSE:

This issue is caused by allowing the sharing of DLC as the root of the mapped drive. When the share was created to the DLC and mapped to the clients for NetSetup, then the DLC was being set to <drive-letter>: without a backslash at the end. The share in the mapped drive should be at least one level above the install directory for Progress, i.e. with c:\progress\DLC being the install, share out the directory progress and map x:\\hostname\progress

FIX:

Share a folder which is higher than the DLC folder. For example: when sharing out c:\program files\progress instead of c:\program files\progress\dlc this error will not occur.

Alternatively:
Add a "\" at the end of the DLC entry in the progress.ini and in the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PSC\PROGRESS\9.1D\Startup" and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PSC\PROGRESS\9.1D\Startup" registry keys.
