GOAL:

How does disallowing blank users· access to a Progress database effect data access when a fully precompiled procedure is run by a blank user?

FIX:

Progress checks table and field level access rights or permissions when a user runs or compiles a 4GL procedure for the first time during a Progress session.

However, these permissions are not checked when the user runs procedures that are fully precompiled. Hence, allowing or disallowing blank users has no bearing on this matter.

Any user, blank or not, may run any fully precompiled procedure unless restricted by the application's built-in "Run-Time Security" measures.

For information about how to enable security for precompiled procedures, see the "Run-time Security" section in the "Progress Client Deployment Guide".
