GOAL:
How to determine who is writing to the database using promon
FIX:
In Promon select:
1 (User Control from top level menu)
1 (User Control from User Control Menu). This menu shows the use, user# and the type of user. Make note of the user type and user#. For example, user 0 is the BROK (broker).
Quit the main promon menu and enter the R&D menu (Enter your selection: R&D)
In the R&D select:
3 (Other Displays)
2 (I/O Operations by Process (from Other Displays menu). This menu displays three columns: Database, BI and AI and the access, read and writes to each. By correlating the user# found in User Control menu in the first step to the users listed in this screen, what user is writing to the database or bi file is easily seen.
