Error 541 when using proshut:
Invalid shutdown request from <user-id> on <tty>. (541)
Historically was able to shut down the database without being the user that started the database or the system manager.
CAUSE:
The specified user has tried to shutdown a PROGRESS database server, but a different user started the server. Only the system manager or the user that started the server can shut it down.
FIX:
1. Validate that you have the correct privileges set for the Progress executables: sysprv, syslck, group, world, sysnam, setprv, detach, sysgbl.
2. Validate that you are either the person that started the database, the system manager, or another user that has sysprv privileges for your user account. Additional information on VAX/VMS security can be located at VAX/VMS Security .
