Our Position Regarding the Support of LVM
There are a variety of platform vendor and operating system functions
that can be used in conjunction with PROGRESS. For example, an
increasing number of PROGRESS customers are using disk striping,
mirroring and logical volume management capabilities in conjuction
with a PROGRESS application. While PROGRESS can be successfully used
in conjunction with these operating system facilities, the end user
should be aware that PROGRESS SOFTWARE CORP. (PSC) does not directly
support these facilities and cannot assume the lead responsibility
when problems result from use of these facilities.
In most cases, PSC has not tested a vendor's striping, mirroring and
volume management capabilities used in conjunction with PROGRESS.
When failures result from a mix of a PROGRESS application and another
vendor's striping, mirroring or volume management capability, the
user will be requested to first seek support from the vendor supplying
the additional capability.
