GUI Results Transaction Processing
How GUI Results handles Transaction Processing
GUI Results does not lock any records until the user selects Add,
Update, Delete, or Copy in the Form View ONLY. When the user
is performing the Add, Update, Delete, or Copy, EXCLUSIVE-LOCKS are
used. Transactions in the Form View are micro-scoped at the trigger
level (add, update, delete, and copy), and are committed at that
level.
In all other views, the initial build, and the application rebuild
NO-LOCKS are used.
Note: NO-LOCK doesn't exist for SYBASE, and therefore a SHARE-LOCK
is used.
