CTRL-C or CTRL-BREAK doesn't work with the Win32 character client during a lock conflict.
Character client is connected through shared-memory.
CAUSE:
Bug# 20030131-011
FIX:
1. To prevent a locking conflict and thus prevent this situation, implement optimistic locking strategy.
OR
2. Use a client/server connection instead of a shared-memory connection.
