SYMPTOM(s):
Scheduled Online backup scripts fail
Backing up to disk.
No errors are posted to database log file
Errors only posted to Application Event Viewer.
Backup terminated due to errors. (1617)
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
CHANGE:
Recently upgraded Internet Explorer to version 5 or higher
CAUSE:
Upgrading to IE 5 or 6 replaces the old Scheduler with the Task Scheduler (Control Panel -> Scheduled Tasks). Any existing scripts will be migrated to the new Task Scheduler. However, the Password associated with the account that owns the scripts does not get applied due to encryption.
FIX:
Re-add the password for the user account running the scripts.
