Does a version 9 database need more disc space than a v.8 one, if yes why?
FIX:
This general question requires a detailed answer. If the databases are exactly similar in terms of block size, records per block, extents, etc. a version 9 database is still different due to storage areas. A wider range of organizational database features c a n also mean a higher usage of disc space, but it is dependend on the dba's decision. One certain feature in v.9 that requires more disc space (but not essentially more) is the additional addition of marks about schema to the records.
