SYMPTOM(s):
SYSTEM ERROR: CRC failure on backup header block (1058)
SYSTEM ERROR 1058 when proresting from one platform to another
Restoring a database with prorest
probkup and prorest on different platforms
CAUSE:
System Error 1058 will result when cross-platform compatibility conflict arises. For example, a backup undertaken on the NCR UNIX v3.02 is not portable to a HP UNIX v11.11 platform. Progress only recommends and supports a dump and load as the method for migrating between platforms.
FIX:
Migrate with a dump and load strategy.
