SYMPTOM(s):
Performance issues when running mbpro
Nightly batch jobs run for about 4 hours before completing.
Running the same program through an interactive character interface takes an hour to process.
Running _progres with the -b option makes no difference in performance.
CAUSE:
A database running at the same time as the production database could be taking away resources from the system and reducing performance when running batches on the production database.
FIX:
Change the batch process to start the other database up after the batch processes are completed and the performance should increase.
