FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
A batch process hangs when executed from ProControl using prowin32.exe with the startup parameters -b -p
Running a procedure from ProControl using prowin32.exe with the -p parameter leads to a hanged process.
CAUSE:
By default a Windows service cannot output to the screen. When the application tries to display something to the screen it will hang. In this case the Progress session is trying to display an error message.
FIX:
You need to choose the option "Allow service to interact with desktop" in ProService (Log On tab) to be able to see the error message.
