SYMPTOM(s):
Spanish characters displayed incorrectly from DataServer application
NLS_LANG parameter is not set
CAUSE:
ORACLE clients (Including Progress DataServer) use environment variables to override the NLS settings of the database. NLS_LANG environment variable is not set for the client machine that has dataserver installed.
FIX:
Using Control Panel - System ? Environment - System Variables. Set the System Variable NLS_LANG to "Spanish_Spain.WE8PC850".
