FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 8.x
Windows 95
SYMPTOM(s):
8.x installation fails: insufficient disk space
Need xxx gigabytes of file space
Insufficient diskspace, required xxx gig; available less then yyy gig
Installation says that (exactly) 2.2 gigabytes of disk space is required:
Installation CD-ROM disk is inserted into in another Windows 95 computer's CD-ROM drive and then connected via the network in a peer-to-peer environment
FIX:
Copy the entire CD-ROM disk to a hard drive anyplace on the network that is not a Windows 95 machine then install from that hard drive. The CD-ROM can be copied to the local C: drive or to any other hard drive that is accessible on the network. This will require about 100 megabytes of space. Once the installation is completed, the copy of the CD-ROM may be deleted.
