GOAL:
What should I do if a transaction backout is not finishing?
FIX:
If you have enough space to let the before-image grown to finish the backout to be completed, wait until it finishes.
But in case you feel that you may reach the entire space available for your bi file to grown you can force a shutdown of the database and let Progress do the crash recovery as single-user to avoid concurrence of other transaction be written to the before-image file to avoid a database crash if the before-image run out of space.
