PROGRESS, Windows, and Lotus Notes RENAME qncw.exe
Problem: When trying to run Progress 7.3A for Windows and Lotus Notes
Release 3.2 for Windows, the hard drive on the PC spins and the PC
locks up. Hitting ctl/alt/del brings up the Windows message indicating
that the system is unstable.
Solution: Lotus Notes has a file qncw.exe in its directory, e.g.,
notes32, which acts much like Dr. Watson does in Windows. Rename
this file and it will most likely work fine.
The same solution works for V9.0A01. If the code:
run aderb\_getname.p("reports.prl" , OUTPUT cLibrary , OUTPUT iCount).
is executed, procedure after some time generates error in qnc.exe.
Renaming the file solves the problem.
