Frequently asked questions about proutil -C conv67
Here are some frequently asked questions regarding a database
conversion from Version 6.xx to 7.xx.
1> What Version 6 releases can be converted to Version 7.xx using the
proutil -C conv67?
Answer: Any Version 6.2x or 6.3x database can be converted to any
Version 7.2x or 7.3x.
2> Is there anything I need to do to the database before I run the
proutil -C conv67?
Answer: Follow the steps below to convert a database from Version
6 to Version 7.
1> Back up the version 6 database.
2> Run a full index rebuild on the database.
3> Use conv67 to convert the database to version 7 format.
3> How do I resolve index errors that occur during the conversion?
Answer: If any errors occur during the conv67 that appear to be
index related, following the steps in 2 above should
resolve these errors most of the time. If this does not
lead to a resolution, we need to report this and make
development aware of this. In the meantime, the other
alternative is a dump and reload.
