GOAL:
What Progress Products is needed to install on to make Webclient to be developed and to run?
GOAL:
What Progress products does WebClient require to be installed on the System so that a developer is able to build and test WebClient programs?
GOAL:
What are the WebClient development requirements as far as Progress products are concerned?
GOAL:
What Progress products do I need to develop and execute WebClient programs?
FIX:
It depends:
- If you don't need HTTP and/or HTTPS then you need only web server and the AppServer
which can be installed on the same machine where the web server runs, or on another one
- If you want to use HTTP then you need AIA (and AppServer)
- If you want to use HTTPS then you need AIA/S (and Secure AppServer)
- If you use AIA then you need some Java Servlet Engine (Tomcat, JRun, ServletExec)
- For development you need ProVision or ProVision Plus
The most often configuration is:
Client Machine 1 Machine 2
PC/Win/WebClient WebServer/JSE/AIA(/S) NameServer/AppServer/Database
