Status: Unverified
SYMPTOM(s):
Could not connect to server (1432) with prowin32 -H -S -N
Connects locally on the database machine using -H -S -N
** Could not connect to server for database <DATABASE>, errno <ERRNO>. (1432)
Telnetting from the client to the server fails
Tracert from the client to the server times out
CAUSE:
There is a network problem
FIX:
Try creating a copy of sports2000 and start it on a different port. Connect to that database remotely. If this works, try stopping the test database you just created and start the main database on that port. The client should now connect. The network will need to be investigated by a Network Administrator to isolate the routing problem.
