GOAL:
Windows NT
GOAL:
Progress 9.1C
GOAL:
Report Builder
SYMPTOM(s):
No reports are shown when the report library (.prl) is opened.
prl appears to be empty
Running aderb/_getname.p shows .prl to be empty.
CAUSE:
Corruption of prl file
CAUSE:
The .prl is possibly corrupted. However, the behaviour (prl can be opened, but no reports are there) would seem to be consistent with all the reports being selected and deleted. Customer was saying that their end-user was saying that there was no way the reports could simply have been deleted, claiming that all they had been doing was:
1. working on a report.
2. saving it.
3. exitting the prl.
Next time they accessed the prl, the reports were no longer there. Their only evidence for the prl being corrupted was the fact that it was showing that there were no reports. The behaviour couldn't be reproduced.
FIX:
Restore the .prl from backup.
