SYMPTOM(s):

SYSTEM ERROR: The before-image file has the wrong cluster size. (881)

SYSTEM ERROR: wrong dbkey in block. Found <dbkey>, should be <dbkey2> (1124)

FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows
Progress 9.1C

CAUSE:

1) Client filled up .d1 extent which caused database to crash
2) Client created a new structure for their database in a different directory on the hard drive
3) Client procopied into the new structure
NOTE: no truncation of the BI was performed before the procopy
4) Client deleted original database
5) Client tried to startup the copy and received this error

Client tried several steps to correct the problem but also found there is at least 1 corrupt block in the data portion of the database.

FIX:

There is likely corruption in the BI.
There is definitely corruption in the DB.

Go to backup if possible and roll forward after image files if available.
If after image files are unavailable, go to backup.

Consider using After Imaging or periodic incremental backups to either minimize down time or provide for alternate recovery options.
