GOAL:

Is it possible to prevent Webclient clients from downloading a remote prowcapc file update when a DSL connection is lost?

FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress 9.x
Windows

FIX:

There is no way to change the Webclient install to make it not go to the Web and
look for updates at the remote site, on login, once Webclient has been packaged that way.

To prevent the Application from looking for updates remotely, deploy Webclient locally at the client site and have the clients look for updates there. Although it will take some time to repackage with the application assembler, this is a workaround.

Also, address the DSL connection problem. This is an issue with DSL, not Progress.

An Enhancement Request has been logged to prevent the Webclient installation from looking for updates remotely, especially for Dynamics users, who need to have a local Database, and are therefore not required to look for updates from a remote location.
