GOAL:
Explanation of the function of the RBRUN.OUT files.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 7.3
Report Builder
SYMPTOM(s):
** Unable to open file: <file-name>. Errno=<number>. (98)
FIX:
RBRUN.OUT is a text file that is similar in format to a Windows .ini file and contains the text "[PRORB Runtime output]". The report engine creates this status file unless an error writing the status file to disk occurs.
The status file can be checked for information concerning the report engine processing. If the report engine encounters an error, the status file contains an error message that explains why the report was terminated. It also stores the error code and the number of pages output.
If the RB-DISPLAY-ERRORS parameter is set to true, the report engine also displays error messages on the screen as it executes.
In Progress Version 7.3, the runtime status file (always) is written to the current working directory. The current working directory is defined as the working directory that is specified for the Windows icon that is used to start Report Builder or the Progress session that it is called from. There is no over-ride available for 7.3.
