Cannot install Oracle
PC has a Pentium 4 processor
Setup has been launched and only hourglass are visible
CAUSE:
Oracle 8i CD came with Java does not contain PIV instructions
FIX:
In order to install Oracle 8i follow these steps:
1. Copy the content of the CD Installation to a temporary folder on the harddisk, rename file called 'symcjit.dll' to whatever you want.
2. Go to folder \install and edit file 'oraparam.ini', and change parameter JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS to JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms16m -mx32m
3. Start the installation again (from a hdd folder)
