CAUSE:
The "Other server arguments" was a 'new field' that was added in one of the early 9.1C patches. Not all startup parameters can be defined in the Progress Explorer fields, this field can be used to specify a .pf file (for example) where these can be included.
FIX:
Apply latest Progress 9.1C patch or upgrade to latest commercial release.
The Progress Explorer is a client session. The ubroker.properties on the Server will be updated when the Progress Explorer Client Session Starts the AdminServer and makes the database connections.
The .pf file can be used to define startup parameters that cannot be defined in the Progress Explorer fields. However, the .pf file must be accessible by the Server, for example:
If you want to include a pf file located in the directory:
/usr1/pexpl/pf/sales.pf
Then you would insert in the "Other Server Arguments" section:
-pf /usr1/pexpl/pf/sales.pf
(this will then be updated in the ubroker.properties)
