SYMPTOM(s):
Unable to use clipboard:value to copy/paste text between character client and windows
** The clipboard is empty. (4483)
CAUSE:
As DOS and Windows applications use different memory space it is not possible to copy/paste between a windows application, eg Word and the DOS environment. The character client is in a DOS environment so it is an OS issue.
FIX:
This is an operating system limitation on older versions of Windows.
On Windows XP and 2003 SP2 you can get copy and paste working by modifying the properties of the Character Client shortcut.
-Right click on the Character Client shortcut and chose properties
-Select the Options tab
-Check QuickEdit option
This will allow the use of the Windows short cut keys ( Ctrl-V, Ctrl-C, etc)
