FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
SYMPTOM(s):
A query containing an IS NULL test causes that field in the result set to always have a null value
CAUSE:
Bug# 20020917-017
CAUSE:
Earlier versions of Progress SQL-92 interpreted certain forms of outer join in a way that did not conform to the SQL-92 standard. Earlier versions would evaluate WHERE clause predicates on only the right table in the outer join before doing the join. This method is not standard compliant.
FIX:
Upgrade to Progress 9.1D05
