Trying to start the Appserver

IOException reading message from server : java.io.EOFException: pipe to server broken (8117)

ERROR: cannot start server. (8100)

Message from server : <serverMsg> (8113)

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 9.1x
OpenEdge 10.x
OpenEdge Server Technology Category: AppServer

CAUSE:

A userid and password is not being referenced in the application startup program but is entered in the .pf file for the database startup, or the port number used to connect to the database is different from that used to start it.

FIX:

1. Add the userid and password that are in the .pf file to the application that starts the database
2. In the Appserver broker properties, use the port the database was started on for the database connection parameter -S.
