GOAL:

How do I apply a 9.1D service pack to a Novell Netware server hosting a NetSetup folder?

FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows 32 Intel
Progress 9.1D

FIX:

During a 9.1D service pack installation Progress checks the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry keys. Thus, if you are not logged in as the original user who performed the initial installation, the 9.1D service pack will fail to install. In order to apply a 9.1D service pack to a Novell NetSetup parent directory structure you must log in from the original machine, as the original user who installed Progress to the Novell Netware server's disk. Once this is done, you will be able to run the service pack installation. Additionally, you should also re-run NetSetup from the remote thin client machine(s) to be sure any DLL or OCX files that may have changed within the service pack are updated on the local thin client machine(s).
