GOAL:
How to identify the Web Server's API Type, Script and Root directory, Language for messages & data, and deployment architecture?
GOAL:
Define what the following should be and what it means?
-Web Server API Type(ISAP, NSAP, CGI)
-Web SErver Script and Documentation directories
-Language for messages and data (English, French, etc...)
-Deployment architecture (local or distributed)
FIX:
During the installation, you must be able to provide the following information:
WEB SERVER TYPE
You must know whether the Web server that you are using with WebSpeed is NSAPI- or CGI-compatible. Choose which WebSpeed Messenger to install based on the kind of Web Server you have installed.
WEB SERVER SCRIPT DIRECTORY
you must know the absolute pathname of the directory that your Web server uses to store scripts. The installation utility installs the WebSpeed CGI Messenger script into that directory. It installs the Messenger executables in install-path/bin.
WEB SERVER DOCUMENT ROOT DIRECTORY
You must know the absolute pathname of the directory that your Web server uses to locate static HTML files.
LANGUAGE
You must decide what language you want WebSpeed to use when displaying messages and handling data.
DEPLOYMENT ARCHITECTURE
You must decide whether you want to install all WebSpeed components on one machine or distribute them across two or more machines.
More information can be found within the WebSpeed Installation and Configuration Guide, Chapter: Installation WebSpeed on Windows & Unix.
