How to start the remote dbagent for database under AdminServer
FACT(s) (Environment):
Fathom 2.0A
FIX:
To start a remote dbagent for a database managed by the AdminServer it is required to have Progress 9.1D with a minimum of Service Pack 2.
With Fathom 2.0A and Progress 9.1D02, follow the steps to enable remote dbagent on Progress Explorer application:
1. Shutdown the AdminServer
2. Edit the file $DLC/properties/conmgr.properties
3. Add the following entry:
[agentremoteconnection]
agentremotesupport=true
4. Restart the AdminServer
5. Open Progress Explorer
6. Go to the database and select default configuration
7. In the agent folder, specify the Fathom hostname and the database admin port. In 9.1D this is 8835 by default.
