Getting errors when connecting to ORACLE LOCALLY with the Unified Broker
Failed to connect to ORACLE database <db_name>. (1451)
Oracle error - 1012 see "Oracle Error Messages and Codes Manual". (1252)

Errors do not occur when connecting to ORACLE with Unified Broker through Net*8 connection
Errors do not occur when connecting to ORACLE locally with _progres and/or _probrkr
_progres, _probrkr, _orasrv executables were probuilt
Buildenv.lg has correct ORACLE_HOME and PATH setting
ORACLE_SID set appropriately
Progress 9.1C installed on same machine
Progress 9.1C working correctly
Java 1.3.1 installed on machine
Oracle errors when trying to connect from Java program run in 1.3.1 JRE
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
Oracle 8.1.7.1
AIX 4.3.3 ML 09
CAUSE:
Java 1.3.1 is not working well with ORACLE 8.1.7.1. Progress 9.1D has certified java 1.3.0 on AIX with additonal PTFs.
FIX:
Downgrade Java to the version that Progress 9.1D supports.
