MIPS connect error - libmutex : lock_mutex() failed
This entry deals with an error specific to the RISC-OS Version 5.01 on
the MIPS platform.
The error occurs only when you try to connect to a database in single
user mode or when you attempt to start a database broker process. The
process will appear to hang until you press Ctrl-C. At this point,
you will see the following error.
Semop:interrupted system call
libmutex:lock_mutex() failed
There will be no message generated in the database .lg file. You need
to follow the steps below to make sure that you have the correct
version of the mutex daemon running on the system.
1> $ type mutexd ---> this returns the pathname ex. /usr/etc/mutexd
2> $ what /usr/etc/mutexd ---> this lists the version you are running
You need to have v5.01+2.
You can also obtain this information in the hard copy Release Notes
that are shipped with the media for this port.
