Windows Black screen of Death SPX NLM Novell netware dos
If customer is using a Ms-Windows client against either a NLM or
Univel Unixware database server and experiencing what is known in
the industry as the 'Black Screen of Death', redirect them to either
Novell or to CompuServ. This is a Novell/Windows problem where if
a windows application (like Progress) is using the SPX protocol, the
screen will simply become black (sometimes with a cursor in the upper
left hand corner).
Novell has fixed this problem in its' latest windows/protocol stack
drivers. The customer must download these either via CompuServ in
the Novfiles forum or via Novell's ftp site.
These files include: lsl.com, ipxodi.com, netx.exe (or VLMs),
netware.drv, vipx.386, vnetware.386, nwipxspx.dll.
All these files are interrelated and supplied by Novell.
