SYSTEM ERROR: Invalid Segment Descriptor ( 2889 )
The following error has been reported in V7:
SYSTEM ERROR: Invalid Segment Descriptor <descriptor-number>. (2889)
The r-code file is comprised of different segments. The segments are
managed individually at run time. Each segment is assigned a segment
descriptor number that is maintained in a segment descriptor table.
This error occurs if the r-code segment number has a value greater
than the size of the run-time segment descriptor table.
If this error is encountered, it may be resolved by:
1) Recompiling the r-code where this error was encountered, and/or
2) Increasing the -mmax parameter on the clients to 1024.
If neither of the above resolves the problem, additional information
will be required to investigate this further, including:
- steps, code sample and .df file to duplicate the problem in-house
- start-up parameters for client
- full log file session
- description of what user does when encounters this error
- stacktrace from core file if one is produced
