GOAL:
When installing a Service Pack, does the temporary directory you create for the download of the Service Pack, need to reside on the same physical disk as the Progress installation?
FIX:
No, the temporary directory you create for the download of the Service Pack does not need to reside on the same physical disk as the Progress installation.
A directory can be created on a different drive or different machine. The service pack would then be downloaded and extracted to this location. If the Service Pack was downloaded on a different machine, then that directory or drive needs to be mapped as a local drive to the machine the Service Pack will be applied to.
Proceed with installation according to Service Pack installation notes.
