FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 8.3D
FACT(s) (Environment):
SCO OpenServer
SYMPTOM(s):
HIDE FRAME doesn't work in a newly developed handheld device.
HIDE FRAME works fine in a non handheld session.
Implementing a VT100/VT220 Terminal emulation on a new hand held device.
HIDE ALL works but it hides everything and clears the screen.
Protermcap file was modified to allow function keys will work for this device.
CAUSE:
Testing revealed that the problem is the result of an incomplete VT100 emulator that does not recognize all of the control codes required to do the functions within the Progress application software.
FIX:
Use a complete VT100/VT200 emulation. Work with the hand held device manufacturer/vendor to correct and complete that emulation.
