SYMPTOM(s):
Unable to run online backup with Progress 8.3x.
There is no server for database <dbname> (1423).
Using "Promon <dbname>" produces the (1423) error as well.
CHANGE:
Added a Progress 8.3E installation to a Windows NT machine where Progress 8.3D was already installed (in a separate directory).
CAUSE:
A custom script built for the earlier Progress version was still being used. No changes had been made to the script for the new Progress version. Therefore, the wrong version of the Progress executable was attempting to run.
FIX:
Modify all custom scripts to reflect the new version of Progress or create a new script for the newer product version.
