SYMPTOM(s):
SYSTEM ERROR: write to <backup device> failed, errno = <code> (1049)
SYSTEM ERROR: write to /dev/rmt/1mn failed, errno = 5 (1049)
CAUSE:
If blocking factor of the backup is higher than the blocking factor of the tape drive, the tape drive can't handle the amount of data sent to it.
FIX:
Use the -bf command to set the blocking factor of the backup to match the blocking factor of the tape drive.
