FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1C
SYMPTOM(s):
Restored database from a backup
Database server is up and running
Database files on disk are missing
Client can still connect to the database
CAUSE:
Someone accidentally did an "rm -r *" command in the database directory and deleted the database files
FIX:
Use one of the connected client processes to dump the database (.df, .d's and sequences) then disconnect all client processes, recreate the database from the empty database and reload the data.
