"Test connect" works
When running simple queries, the expected results return
When running more complex queries, to multiple fields, the Query runs, but does not return any data and looks like the connection is closed.
Query appears to run without problems when run as a report otherwise it runs 3 or 4 times before failing
CAUSE:
RecordSet type incorrectly set within Access
FIX:
Do the following in MS Access on the Query definition:
Go to Query Properties - change RecordSet Type = Snapshot(where an update is not required) and raise your ODBC Timeout setting.
