The shared memory is version <num>; expected <num> (1178)
FACT(s) (Environment):

CAUSE:
A shared memory connection is being attempted from a client version that is different to the database version which is not allowed.
FIX:
To connect to a different version database, Progress clients are able to connect to database servers using a client/server connection (using the -H and -S parameters) within the same Major release and 1 Major release prior.
