Database crashed with bkioWrite error.
bkioWrite:Unknown O/S error during write, errno 2, fd 1164, len 8192, offset 678, file d:\progress\db\data\school_12.d1. (9451)
bkioWrite:Insufficient disk space during write, fd 1164, len 8192, offset 678, file d:\progress\db\data\school_12.d1. (9450)
Error 9450 might occur in the database log file on a Windows system, although there is sufficient hard disk space available.
Proutil dbname -C truncate bi completed successful
Database was started up without incident.
Users are accessing data in that extent.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows 2000
Progress 9.1D
CHANGE:
Created a WIN2k Junction that ties into Progress db directory where the databases are located.
CAUSE:
They were running a third party backup at the time of the database crash, that excludes Progress, but picked up the Junction which is virtual pointer to the database files.
FIX:
Remove JUNCTION or exclude it from the scan.
